Counselling
Clinical Approaches and Evidence Base
Alumah’s counselling combines trauma-focused, integrative approaches with structured programmes and personalised support. Our therapy models are evidence-based, addressing trauma, domestic abuse, and associated mental health conditions.
To ensure transparency and quality, we follow:
Clinical supervision standards: All staff and students receive regular supervision from qualified supervisors.
Trauma training requirements: Team members are trained in trauma-informed practice and therapeutic interventions for domestic abuse.
Ethical frameworks: Our practice aligns with BACP and UKCP guidelines, ensuring safe, ethical, and effective care.
Through this approach, we help clients build coping strategies, regain confidence, and work toward safer, healthier futures.
Our CEO is a UKCP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor and supervisor (BSc), specialising in CPTSD, PTSD, and related issues. Our Counselling Co-ordinator is BACP-registered (MSc), with experience in trauma, domestic abuse, and sexual assault. We are actively seeking qualified counsellors to join our team.
We work closely with local colleges and universities, offering placements for student counsellors. While with us, students receive supervision and training to develop their skills in a safe, supportive environment.
