Horizon (formally DACTIP)

Domestic abuse impacts not only the direct victim but the entire household. Children living in such environments are often traumatised, mentally, socially, and emotionally, which can affect their development and wellbeing. Many children experience poor mental health at a young age but do not receive the appropriate support. Without a clear understanding of healthy relationships, children may only see the dynamics between the victim and perpetrator in their household, which can influence how they form their own relationships in the future, perpetuating the cycle of abuse.

Horizon is a trauma-informed, programme delivered by trained practitioners in schools and at our office. It is delivered 1:1, ensuring that safeguarding and individual needs are prioritised at all times. The programme helps children understand healthy relationships, develop coping strategies, and build emotional resilience in a safe, supportive environment.

This programme is designed specifically for children aged 7–11, providing early intervention to support their wellbeing and break the cycle of abuse.

The Horizon Programme is now accredited!
We’re proud to offer training for professionals who want to deliver this programme in their own settings. If you work with children in a professional environment, get in touch to learn more about our training opportunities.
